The wind from the hills, translated from the Malayalam original Niyogam, has been described as the logical progression from Pandavapuram , covering the distance between the soul and the body. This novel  was  in the final shortlist of four Regional language translations, for the Vodafone- Crossword Award of 2008.

Kamalakshi Amma, a middle-aged village women, who had prayed for a child for years and years, who had undertaken penances, visited all the temples, who knew anxiety and the angst of hopelessness as time passed and she grew older, who could now turn only to the all-forgiving and omnipotent nature herself.
